Some pretty cool recognition from a few different places for FeynMed Solutions. First, Arushi Tandon, who is pursuing her PhD in Prof. Robert Burrell's lab, won Best Presentation in the Precision/Personalized Health Design category at the University of Alberta Department of Biomedical Engineering Research Day. I was lucky enough to attend, and see a bunch of neat posters, plus many of the presentations, including Arushi's. If you ever get the chance to watch Arushi pitch, take it. She presents with a great combo of storytelling while imparting an understanding of the problem and solution. Also, I learned that the total surface area within the lungs is about 85m^2, which I find fascinating.

I cannot pass up mentioning that the BME Research Day was an all-hands effort by the FeynMed team. Dr. Patricia Nadworny was on the organizing committee, Charlotte Bradley presented a poster, and Prof Burrell was on a panel.

Next up, we were named #7 in Edmonton on ScaleUp50's most scalable companies list for 2026. Another notable inclusion on the list is Rise Medical at #13. Dr. Shubha De, our Chief Medical Officer, is one of the founders at Rise, where they are working on solutions to make treatments for kidney stones more effective and less invasive.

Finally, we were ecstatic to make it into the Top 10 for Startup TNT's Spring Summit. This resulted in going through a detailed due diligence process with the talented and curious team from Startup TNT. If you're looking to raise, I strongly encourage you to participate in Startup TNT's pitch events. It's a great learning experience in a low-pressure, high-energy environment. Tim and Zack are wonderful and welcoming hosts.

In news for the coming month, Dr. Patricia Nadworny will be at BIO in San Diego. She will be talking to other companies in the wound care space, meeting with Contract Research Organizations, getting some face-to-face with investors, and hopefully enjoying all that San Diego has to offer. If you're looking to meet up with her while she's there, hit her up at patricia@feynmed.com.

Welcome to Canada at BIO, your hub for exploring the strength, scale, and global reach of Canada’s biotechnology sector.

Finally, it's spring in Edmonton, so it's pest season. That means we've got ants in our plant. Ciaran Terry, in addition to being a pro on our lab policies and procedures, is learning all the ins and outs of keeping these critters out of our facility.
