FeynMed June 2026 Update
June was another busy month at FeynMed Solutions. We were lucky enough to have several interesting visitors, including a nursing subject matter expert, and attend some exciting conferences. As we progress towards finalizing the production process, and seeking regulatory approval, we are mapping the pathways for bringing a medical device to market both here in Canada and in the USA. Based on our conversations with primary care providers, we recognize that most decisions relating to which wound care product to pull off the shelf rely on the judgement of the nursing team. To help ensure Trivera is chosen, FeynMed is working to develop a clear narrative that highlights the benefits of using it in complex wound care scenarios. Building a value proposition involves not only improving patient outcomes, but also developing a model for exactly how to apply the dressing and how this fits into existing workflows. Patricia, our Chief Scientific Officer, attended the BIO International Convention in San Diego, where she had a range of productive meetings with investors, funding agencies, trade commissioners, suppliers/subcontractors, and more. She was also able to attend a variety of sessions covering dual use & military medicine; smart partnerships; women's health; and seed, strategic & venture funding. Receptions put on by Life Sciences BC, Mintz, Smart & Biggar, Nucleate, and BLPN were a great way to make connections. Thank you to BIOTECanada for the great events, spaces to meet at the Canada pavilion, and for including FeynMed Solutions in the BIO 2026 Canadian Delegation Directory and Insights magazine. Also, a big shoutout to BLPN - we can say firsthand that the mantra is real! Find someone to help. Repeat.
Locally, there were many opportunities to connect with the scientific and startup communities. The Wounds Canada Western Region conference, held at Concordia University, provided a great occasion to connect with wound care providers, suppliers and local distributors, and provided insights into the state of the science. The Deep Tech Showcase (put on by Edmonton Unlimited), the Health Innovators Breakfast (presented by BioAlberta and the University Hospital Foundation) and the BioAlberta Bioeconomy Guild Night Summer Social were all great chances to connect with our community and learn more about the innovations happening right here in Alberta. FeynMed Solutions is also grateful to be welcomed into Life Sciences Central (powered by MaRS, OBIO, and TIAP), and the CAN Health Membership Program, which provide valuable resources for commercializing healthcare innovations in Canada.
