Founder update:

Welcome to the inaugural FeynMed Solutions Newsletter, we intend this to be a recurring monthly update to keep you informed on what’s new at FeynMed and newsworthy events in the space.  In the first quarter of 2026, a common theme that surfaced is importance of relationships, and connections in the life sciences industry.  Commercialization of a medical device is a multifaceted process that requires the expert input from many sources.  With the need for deep expertise in the technical science, regulatory, market strategy, it truly takes a village.

Progress and Milestones:

-With the assistance of Laura Rose from Deffai, we focused on refining and finalizing the regulatory strategy for our advanced wound dressing, confirming the 510(k) pathway, identifying potential predicate devices, testing strategy, and drafting appropriate claim language.

Conferences and Forum Attendance:

-J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference in San Francisco, where we met up with some old friends and figured out how these large-scale life sciences conferences work. It was most surprising to us the extent to which ‘dual-use’ (civilian/military applications from the same tech) was a big theme there, though not quite as big as AI.

-Attended the MIT REAP Team Edmonton Town Hall Defence and Dual Use panel.  It was great to learn about the journey of three leading edge companies (Wyvern, Samdesk and Zero Point Cryogenics), who started developing dual use technologies before it was cool.

-Attended the Defence, Security & Aerospace Tradeshow in Calgary. This was a valuable look at how investment in the defence sector will work as Canada works to meet its increased NATO spending commitments.

-In the coming month, our team will be attending and presenting at a number of meetings including the SAWC spring meeting (Our CSO, Patricia Nadworny will present a poster, as will Charlotte Bradley from our Founder’s lab) and the BioAlberta Prairie Bioeconomy Guild ( https://simpli.events/e/AprGuild2026  )
